In this video I cover how to to make a mold box for my Octopus cigar ashtray. This is part one of a three part series and gives a very detailed view on how my ashtrays and sculptures are made. This octopus cigar ashtray is now available!
Cigar stands are something that I’ve been wanting to make for several years now but until recently I’ve never been able to come up with a design that I liked. I cracked my own personal code so to speak and have come up with an overall shape, size and height that will work with my stile of art. I’m excited for these little guys and can’t wait until I can put them into production. For now, here are some work-in-progress pics for a few of the designs I have been working on.

I haven’t quite settled on the name for this piece yet but for the time being I’m going to call it Dante’s Inferno. I’m not 100% sold on the name so it will most likely change once I have the final product in my hands.
The images below are a combination of wax and resin. The final sculpture will have more of a pop and I’ll share those images once this ashtray moves closer towards production.
